Today at Lackland Airforce Base in Texas, I stood on the ground that my son stood on, over 8 years ago. I held the young boy Keaton Smith, named after him by his father Shelby Smith - a US Navy K9 handler. What a visit, what a man! This man now is my son, forever! He and Keaton Coffey were fellow warriors and we need to salute that, in addition to our US flag.......Semper Fidelis, my precious son, until that day

Keaton left a huge mark in his short 22 years on this earth. We'll chronicle many stories in future updates, but keep in touch for living memorials in his honor in the way of; tatoos, K9s named after him and the sons of fellow warriors that bear his name. This is Keaton the owl, released not long after our Hero's death in battle. This cool predator guards the vineyards at Oswego Hills Winery and is shown being released by Keaton's former fiance' Brittany Dygert.
